Mount Washington is one of dozens of I-90 hikes in western Washington. Lying on the south side of the freeway, the summit provides good views of several other peaks in the vicinity. The trail is well maintained and has a little bit of everything to offer. There are some difficult inclines, long stretches of flat, rocks, boulders, streams to cross, and even some snow and ice this. While not heavily populated, the hike has some value. There's nothing stunning here, but if you're up for something new and want a change of scenery, it's worth giving it a go.
If you live in the area, you've no doubt climbed Mt Si in North Bend, or at least heard of it. Because of its proximity to the populated areas of Seattle and Bellevue, the trail is hiked A LOT. From Mount Washington you have great views of Mt Si and Mailbox Peak (difficult) directly north. Without a doubt there are numerous throngs of hikers at the haystack on Mt Si who are looking back and have no idea there's even a Mount Washington there.
There's not a lot of snow this year, but it's been cold enough to freeze some of the small streams flowing down the mountain forming some beautiful ice sculptures. There are also signs of logging in the area from the not-too-distant past. Finding the trailhead is tricky (no sign).
